FAQs
Questions & Answers from The Glove Box
Are you mobile?
Yes. The White Glove Detailer™ is mobile-first and serves customers throughout greater Tampa Bay at homes, offices, businesses, dealerships, marinas, fleet yards, and other approved locations. Some services may require or benefit from an indoor or partner location depending on the project.
Do I need to provide water or electricity?
Usually not for standard mobile appointments. Access requirements can vary depending on the service and location, and TWGD will confirm any special needs before the appointment.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on vehicle or vessel size, condition, service scope, location, access, required labor, and the result the customer wants to achieve. Published prices are generally starting prices unless specifically stated otherwise. Final pricing may require additional information, photos, or inspection.
What does “starting at” mean?
A starting price represents the beginning price for a qualifying vehicle or project in appropriate condition. Larger vehicles, excessive contamination, specialty surfaces, additional labor, paint correction, restoration, or other condition-dependent needs may increase the final price.
What if I am not sure which service I need?
That is completely normal. TWGD diagnoses before prescribing. Tell us about the vehicle, its current condition, what concerns you, and the result you want, and we will recommend the level of service that makes the most sense.
Do you need photos before giving me a quote?
Not always. Photos are especially helpful for severe interiors, pet hair, stains, odors, paint defects, scratches, oxidation, overspray, marine work, specialty vehicles, restoration projects, and other conditions that are difficult to accurately assess without seeing them.
How long does a detail take?
Timing depends on the size and condition of the vehicle and the service being performed. Routine detailing may take a few hours, while deep cleaning, paint correction, ceramic coatings, restoration, marine, or specialty projects may require most of a day or longer.
What is the difference between detailing and a car wash?
A car wash primarily removes surface dirt. Professional detailing goes further by cleaning, restoring, refining, preserving, and protecting interior and exterior surfaces based on their condition.
Can every stain, scratch, odor, or defect be removed?
No. TWGD aims for the safest, best possible improvement, but some stains, odors, scratches, worn materials, failing paint, repaint defects, or permanent damage may not be fully removable. Some concerns may require repair beyond detailing.
What is paint correction?
Paint correction uses machine polishing and, when appropriate, other refinishing techniques to reduce swirls, haze, oxidation, water spots, sanding marks, and certain scratches while restoring clarity and gloss.
Does ceramic coating remove scratches?
No. Ceramic coating protects and enhances the finish but does not repair existing paint defects. Decontamination, paint enhancement, or correction may be recommended before coating installation depending on the vehicle’s condition.
How long does ceramic coating last?
TWGD offers multiple coating options ranging from shorter-term protection to long-term systems. Actual lifespan depends on the coating selected, preparation, vehicle use, storage, washing habits, environmental exposure, and maintenance.
Does ceramic coating make my vehicle scratch-proof or stop rock chips?
No. Ceramic coatings improve gloss, hydrophobic performance, chemical resistance, and ease of maintenance, but they do not make paint scratch-proof or chip-proof. Paint Protection Film is the more appropriate option for physical impact protection.
Do I still need to wash a ceramic-coated vehicle?
Yes. Ceramic coatings make maintenance easier, not unnecessary. Proper washing and periodic maintenance help preserve coating performance and maximize longevity.
What is the difference between carbon and nano-ceramic window tint?
Both can improve appearance and privacy. Nano-ceramic film is generally selected when stronger heat and infrared rejection are priorities. TWGD can help recommend a film based on appearance, privacy, visibility, heat reduction, UV protection, and budget.
What tint percentage should I choose?
The right tint depends on appearance, privacy, visibility, heat rejection, and applicable law. TWGD discusses legal limitations and helps customers choose an appropriate option rather than assuming one percentage fits every vehicle.
Can old or bubbling tint be removed?
Yes. TWGD offers tint removal and replacement. Pricing and difficulty depend on film age, adhesive condition, rear defroster considerations, previous installation quality, and the number of windows involved.
Do you offer recurring maintenance plans?
Yes. Qualified vehicles may be placed on weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or other approved maintenance schedules after an appropriate initial detail. Maintainer pricing is designed to preserve an established condition rather than repeat a full reset at every visit.
What happens if I miss my Maintainer interval?
If too much time passes or the vehicle returns in excessive condition, a regular detail or reset may be required before Maintainer pricing resumes.
Do you service boats, RVs, fleets, exotic vehicles, or aircraft?
Yes, select projects are accepted. TWGD provides marine detailing, fleet and commercial services, RV and specialty vehicle care, luxury and exotic vehicle services, and select aviation detailing. These projects are generally evaluated individually before final pricing and scheduling.
Can you service my vehicle at work, an apartment, marina, dealership, or fleet yard?
Often, yes. TWGD works at many types of approved locations as long as access is safe, legal, and appropriate for the requested service. Gate access, marina rules, property restrictions, or vendor requirements should be provided before scheduling.
What if I am outside your normal service area?
Customers should still contact us. TWGD may travel beyond the normal service area depending on the project, scheduling availability, distance, and service value. A travel fee or minimum service amount may apply.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my mobile appointment?
Rain, wind, extreme heat, or unsafe conditions may affect mobile service. TWGD may adjust the appointment time, reschedule, or recommend a more suitable indoor or partner location depending on the service.
Do appointments require a deposit?
Some appointments and larger projects may require a deposit to reserve time. Any required deposit and payment instructions are confirmed before the reservation is finalized.
Is an appointment request the same as a confirmed booking?
No. A requested date or time is a scheduling preference until TWGD has reviewed availability, confirmed the service details, and completed any required deposit process. A reservation is confirmed only after the scheduling team approves it.
What should I remove from the vehicle before an interior detail?
Customers should remove valuables, unnecessary personal belongings, and child seats when possible. This allows better access to the areas being serviced and helps the appointment move more efficiently.
What types of damage may require a body shop instead of detailing?
Deep scratches, dents, rock chips, missing or failing clear coat, severe repaint defects, and other physical damage may require professional body or paint repair rather than detailing alone.
What if the service I need is not listed on the website?
Ask us anyway. TWGD handles a wide range of specialty and unusual projects and can review the request individually to determine whether we are the right fit.
